What is “CompressionFree™” Technology?
All brake fluids, DOT 3, DOT4, DOT 5 (Silicone) and DOT 5.1 have microscopic air bubbles (referred to as “dissolved air”) in them. (SAE J1705, Appendix A.2.2.8 ) For DOT 3, DOT 4 & DOT 5.1 brake fluid this is typically 5%± 2% by volume. CompressionFree™ is a proprietary process of blending the various components of Prospeed RS683 in such a manner as to reduce the amount of dissolved air in solution to less than 1%! This technology makes Prospeed RS683 to be virtually compression-less providing the performance oriented driver a braking control experience unlike any other.
“Air Solubility – It has been reported that dimethyl polysiloxane fluid, which is a major part of silicone based low water tolerant type brake fluids can typically contain dissolved air at a level of 16%±3% by volume at standard temperature and pressure. This compares with a typical level of 5%±2% by volume of dissolved air for glycol ether based type fluids. An increase in brake pedal travel may be experienced under severe operating conditions, especially at higher altitudes and high temperature conditions." - 25.87 SAE Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid Standards
